ABOUT
We are Prosper or Perish, ./prosperorperish, a local Metal band from Northeast Philadelphia, ranging from ages 23-28. The stuff on our is well over 2 years old and we have been working hard since then writing a good amount of new songs that we definitely feel have set their own genre. We are basically straight up metal, but with the addition of our new guitarist over 2 years ago, we have grown into something much more, touching on many different aspects of metal. We don't do too much clean singing at the moment, but we are very open to having it come along somewhere down the line, but it would have to be done tastefully and would have to fit the song.
About 1 month ago we set a date to record our first legit EP sometime in Mid-January 2010, even though we have enough material to do 3 EP’s. We have been working hard to finesse the songs over the last year and now with 2 months before we are to begin recording, our drummer Joe has decided that his heart is no longer in playing music at all ever again. This came right out of left field as a huge shock to us all. He is a good friend to everyone, but this is going to set us back if we are unable to quickly pick up the pieces. We are very easy to work with and enjoy the fact that we are all able to grow and become tighter as a band. We wouldn’t expect anyone to have to rush to learn or write drums for the songs just to be ready to record right away. If it works out that way, then all the better, but we are aware that we are most likely going to have to postpone the recording until a new drummer can become comfortable and familiar with the songs and comfortable writing with the band. Once we finish recording the EP, we will mail a copy to every metal label out there. We would like to try to schedule a few 2 week tours throughout the summer and obviously continue to play out locally in the meantime. We look forward to all that is to come for this band.
